Nidoran female are far timider than their male counterparts.
They live in similar areas as the males and like to live in tight groups of around 6 or 7. They have burrows called 'Sets' that they dig usually under large trees etc.
Females are slightly more poisonous than the males thought their coloration is less vivid. However their ears can become quite bright in color when they get excited as blood pumps into them making them very striking to predators.
They are very sensitive to the cold and during winter they hibernate deep in their sets and almost seal themselves in except for small holes they gnaw through the trees providing air. This save the Nidoran but is never healthy for the trees. When the first flakes fall they eat and drink the last of their reserves before settling down to sleep for 3 months.
It certainly looks more timid than its male counterpart. There's a great mood to the picture too, it reminds me of that scene in Bambi just before his mam gets shot.
They're both so cute! And, now that I think about it, their legs and feet remind me of headcrabs!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
