Farfetch'd are illusive but loud birds.

They live in swampy areas, usually near forests.
Farfetch'd were once hunted for their sweet oniony tasting meat but as their numbers dwindled they are now kept in secure parks where hunting is illegal.

The reason their meat tastes so unique is that their main diet is spring onions or leaks. They eat many other things from fish to weed but their favourites are spring onion which the dig up with their spade like beaks. They have now because of so many years eating them become dependant on these plants almost like a drug and starve themselves if they do not have a healthy supply.

Farfetch'd have opposable thumbs, one of the only true birds that do, left over from an ancient ancestor. They therefore can half grip the Onions or leaks and use them as a weapon, waving them wildly at a threat.

Their calls can be heard many miles away which makes them easy to track, but they also use these powerful calls to ward off attackers by screeching at them until their leave.
Many hunters have even lost their hearing by getting too close to an angry Farfetch'd.
