A distant rumble of thunder echoed across the navy-grey sky.
Suddenly the sounds of beating wings tore through the house and the cealing shook as a rush of strong wind blew over the rooftop!

Then silence.

I looked out of the window... black. The whole city was powerless except for dull emergancy lighting for the street lamps.
Only a giant surge of raw power could have caused such devastation to Saffron cities power grid.
Grabbing my dressing gown I leapt from my bed and sprinted down the stairs. Flinging open the front door I felt a rush of warm air hit my face, I was just in time to see 7 helicopters roar past.
My wife came and stood next to me and asked what was going on.
I had no idea, but it must be something big.
Our neighbours had started to come out with torches with the same interest as I had.
I then had an idea. I ran to the side porch and grabbed our old steel ladder and propt it against the house. Our Evee ';Precious' came outside barking loudly as I began to climb.
As I reached the roof my wife cried for me to be careful as the heavens opened up and heavy droplets of warm rain hit my face.
I could hear my wife faintly calling something up to me under the high pitched barking of our dog. Then she stopped barking and froze staring at the sky... then a deafening screech filled the air like a thousand nails on a thousand chalkboards.
Squinting into the darkness... i saw it. A looming yellow shape flapping through the night.
I froze. Everyone on the ground was calling up to me asking what i could see over the horizon but i couldnt speak.
Suddenly bolts of lightning filled the sky... but instead of them coming from the intimiating cloud cover that was building... they came from a bird. A giant.
Amber/yellow and black wings, peircing green eyes and slashing white claws.
Its wings slowly beating with bright sparks rippling from every feather. Its wings stiff like carboard with every finely pointed feather standing to attention like a frightned Sandslash.
Never had i seen such a creature. Such...raw power.

The helicopters circled the beast and shone powerful lights on to its thunderous body. At first it seemed as if they were hearding it in a certain direction. Then they opened fire, almost instantaniously a shot of bright blue bolt shot from the creature and lighting the sky as one of the helicopters exploded into a million peices.
My wife on the lawn could only heard the commotion up until this point but when the explotion eminated from over the rooftops she screamed for me to come down. This time I listened.
Last i thing i heard before they disapeared into the darkness was that bone curdling screech far off in the distance... I'll never forget it.
The army quickly filled the streets with landrovers and Aggron, urging people to stay in their homes as we awaited the power to return.

As we sat in the living room by candlelight my wife asked me what I had saw. I couldnt say much. In the end I looked at her and said quietly...

A pokemon I have never seen before, and, im sure, never will again... but it reminded me of a creature from stories I was told as a child, about an awsome bird that controlled Thunder and lightning in its purest form. Its name... was Zapdos.

Eye witness report carried out by the saffron city council supported by the Kanto Air force.
Subject new what he saw but not enough to cause problems. Interview was carried out by Dr.David.R.Remus.

Not much is known about the bird, only that it resembled that of the ancient Thunderbird, Zapdos. Information was lost due to the large EM feild the bird emmitted. Voltage of the electric pokemon in question is still under analysis.
The incident is currently being refered to as 'the Great Saffron Blackout'.

The bird was lost in a great storm we believe caused by the large amount of electricity the creature gave off, the winds and electrical storms were seen as too dangerous to fly in.

Hope you like it :D
