Omanyte was the second pokemon ever brought back from extinction.

The shell was found in fossilized solidified lava.
At first it was thought to be a regular fossil until the cut it open.
Due to Omanytes shell being so strong against great pressures of deep ocean swimming, they have a great tolerance to pressure as well as great heat and cold.
A small fragment of DNA had survived in the sealed shell, enough to clone and bring it back.
they artificially inseminated Octillery eggs from a farm in Hoenn who farms them for their ink.

When many were produced they found that they lived in large groups and had amazing buoyancy design within their shell to help them control going up and down in the water. they also could store a huge amount of pressure, essential for water based attacks.

When they were put on the market many people bought them despite their incredible price, however not many people used them for battle, and many were put in large tanks for display, mainly owned by rich business men.

when threatened they lift their tenticles as an attempt to make themselves look bigger.

Hope you like it :)

Incredible creature. Fantastic capture. Do you perhaps own one? Or is this a picture from the farm, or did another let you photograph his? Kudos, however this was achieved. Are they aggressive, or more passive, and only attack when threatened?

Kick butt job on this man, you did a fantastic job on the description, and a beautiful job on the artwork.
I personally do not own one but i do know of a man who does and i was lucky enough to be allowed to study it on loan. they are surprisingly passive and curious and it often swam to to top of the tank to feed my hand with its tentacles when i fed it. they do get aggressive when scared but they usually just shoot ink and swim away.

thanks glad you like it ;)

Wow! You are incredibly lucky! I wonder if they are related to Octillary at all. Most likely, but I stick with studying the Canivora monsters.

You are most welcome!
Beautiful! Omanyte looks like such a cutie, and its colours are very well done. I like the background a lot, as if it's coming up from the deep. The helix shell has got some nice detail also, I definitely like this. The description was what I liked the best though, very informative on how they were resurrected! Excellent work, Josh! :)
Thankyou very much ;)
