Ekans are large and powerful snakes.

They have an amazing ability to control how potent their venom will be. They can also control the flow of venom so they do not waste a large amount. Luckily it cannot kill a human, but can make you very ill for a long time.
Not only to they have strong venom, they have a crushing squeeze.

When hunting they first bite, administering a venom. The venom does not kill larger animals, it just makes them weak and woozy ( anything smaller than humans will die from an ekans bite), they sqeeze their prey to death, then dislocating their jaw they swallow it whole.
It takes at least a day for food that has been swallowed whole to digest and Ekans must stay still, within this time. So they either curl up on a hot rock or hide in a dark cave.

when threatned they will shake their tail and make a loud rattling noise in an attempt to ward off any potential threats. Trainers be warned, if you hear this rattling, watch where you step.
